Friends Pascal Rudolphe and Alexis Roman at Parc Bois de Vincennes (MFB)
PARIS - GOOD tweeted an open question way back when: ”What’s your favorite park and why?” Fondly reminiscent of my visit to Paris last May, I RTed “Parc Bois de Vincennes” in the 12ème.

Japanese tourists visit the remains of the wall - East Side Gallery, Berlin (MFB)
BERLIN - Pedals in turn I curb round Kotti and graze the scenic Oranien Str. A Turkish march, a three-manned brass band, toots past strassencafes typisch of happy hour haunts for Wallpaper* types.

The indiscreet Bau Kein Scheiß in Kreuzberg (MFB)
BERLIN - Wheeling a barrow of miscellany down Ohlauer Strasse, I should have walked past what could have been just another corner shop. But its sign caught me in step—no blinding marquee, no worker twirling an arrow—just a sign cut from white construction pasted on a window that read: BAU KEIN SCHEIß.

Abdullah my chance encounter off the Trans-Siberian Rail at Lake Baikal (MFB)
LAKE BAIKAL - Plopped on the pebbled shore between army men and their mothers bathing in the sun, I chewed on my freshwater delight. While I was lunching, a man perched on a dock a few meters away watched curiously. Putting the gutted fish aside, I snapped a shot of his silhouette, an action that prompted his approach.
Blond and blue-eyed, Abdullah is not the typical image of a devout Muslim. But this didn’t faze me. He spoke no English but after he noticed the Jordanian and Yemeni flags sewn onto my backpack, we spoke with the little Arabic he knew and the little Russian I collected thus far.

Andrea Ferri and a cigarette (MFB)
ULAAN BATAAR - After dinner I sat on my type machine in the kitchen of the UB Guesthouse where Andrea Ferri came to brew a cup of instant coffee. The tall, fluffy-haired Italian is a sculptor by training, a tourist/traveler, a twin, a twenty-three year old living in Milano (but do these inscriptions really matter?).
